Why Does the Putting Circle Work? It improves the two keys that every great putt has in common.... Distance & Direction!
Distance Training The most important factor in great putting and limiting three putts is correct speed. The Putting Circle gives instant feedback by allowing the golfer to see how far a made putt rolls after going over the circle. Ideal speed would be for the ball to travel over the Putting Circle and stop between six inches and two feet of the circle or within "gimme range."
Directional Training Made putts go in the hole because they have the right speed and enter the hole in the proper side or half of the hole. Many golfers miss putts on the low side because they always focus on the center of the hole. The Putting Circle forces a golfer to see the half of the hole the ball will enter on a made putt. This white semi-circle faces the golfer only if the putt is straight in. On a breaking putt, it is rotated to the right or left to allow the golfer to see the true entry point of a breaking putt. There are several drills you can do like the "around the clock" drill or distance control where you roll the ball a specific distance past the target, but the drill the product was invented for is the original breaking putting drill. The golfer faces the white half toward them on a straight putt. As a putt breaks more, the Putting Circle is rotated right or left depending on where the ball should enter the hole. This is an excellent product to develop confidence on the greens. No player or coach should be without it! |
